The primary goal of the Wind Energy Committee is to bring the expertise of the diverse backgrounds in the International Gas Turbine Institute into the wind energy industry. The scope of the Wind Energy Committee emphasizes the physical aspects of machine design and reliability such as structures and dynamics, aerodynamics and aero-acoustics, materials science, controls, energy storage, condition monitoring, modeling, and simulation. The Wind Energy Committee will host technical sessions on these subjects as well as tutorials as deemed appropriate, and will seek to host jointly organized sessions with other technical committees when practical and beneficial.
