Technical Committees
Structures & Dynamics Committee

It is the objective of the Structures & Dynamics Committee is to disseminate technology in such diverse activities as flutter and vibration of bladed disks, rotor and shaft dynamics, life management problems, impact dynamics, fatigue, experimental and theoretical static and dynamic modeling, and a variety of stress problems. This objective is being accomplished by a transfer of knowledge from experts in the field by means of technical paper sessions and other comparable information forums.

Many structural problems are associated with airflow through the turbomachine and, in this connection, close cooperation with the Turbomachinery Committee is maintained.

Although the primary emphasis in the past has been on axial flow machines, the inclusion of more centrifugal flow work in the future is not precluded. In addition, the Committee is responsible for identifying new topics or advanced technology areas and bringing them to the attention of the engineering community.
