The primary goal and activity of the Oil & Gas Applications Committee (formerly the Pipelines & Applications Committee) is the promotion of significant high quality gas turbine technical papers reflecting the most recent world-wide developments, significant equipment and applications. These technical papers are published by ASME and are presented and discussed at the annual IGTI TURBO EXPO.

The Committee will also be prepared to review directives, guidelines and codes and practices issued by regulatory authorities or other agencies and submit its comments and conclusions to the appropriate ASME authority.

The Oil & Gas Applications Committee is one of the key technical committees focused primarily on gas turbine applications and user experience. The Committee's scope of concern is gas turbines and associated equipment for use on pipelines and other raw hydrocarbon processes. This includes gas compressors, compressor and pump drives, gas turbine waste heat utilization and electric power generation when used in connection with such processes as pipelines, hydrocarbon gathering, storage/withdrawal, oil/gas separation, liquids separation, gas injection, waterflood, gas lift and LNG.
