The mission of the Education Committee includes the following general Committee responsibilities as outlined below:

• Promote the international exchange of gas turbine educational information between educators, researchers, designers, users and students.
• Stimulate student interest in the gas turbine field.
• Develop relevant continuing education programs and postgraduate and vocational gas turbine technology.
• Gather useful information for the membership of the International Gas Turbine Institute in gas turbine education related areas.
• Maintain a liaison with the other Technical Committees within IGTI, other ASME Divisions such as Fluids Engineering and Lubrication, other professional societies such as the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), as well as with educational institutions.
