The International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) is a technical institute of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME International). ASME International is one of the world's oldest, largest and most respected technical societies. As a not-for-profit organization, ASME International reinvests proceeds from its conferences and other activities to support the engineering profession. ASME serves more than 125,000 members from 134 countries, and has established cooperative agreements with over 53 engineering societies representing 47 countries.

IGTI's Mission Statement The International Gas Turbine Institute of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is dedicated to supporting the international exchange and development of information to improve the design, application, manufacture, operation and maintenance, and environmental impact of all types of gas turbines, turbomachinery and related equipment.

Membership The International Gas Turbine Institute has no formal individual or corporate members. Individuals interested in participating in the International Gas Turbine Institute should become members of ASME International. Upon joining ASME International, new members are asked to select specific areas of interest. Upon selection of gas turbines (technical interest #22), new ASME International members will regularly receive the Global Gas Turbine News, the official newsletter of IGTI, as well as regular mailings from both IGTI and ASME International, and are eligible for a discounted subscription to either the Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power or the Journal of Turbomachinery.
ASME International membership qualifies individuals for substantial cost discounts on both IGTI and ASME International programs and products.
